Family designed by God
Let us find out about origin of family

Lesson 1
  1. God is the author of families
    1. Our genealogy traces back to Adam who is declared as son of God. Man is definitely not from monkey. We were created by a wonderful God and for a greater purpose. The account of genealogy by Luke gives us the complete picture of origin.
      1. Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
  2. Origin of man
    1. God made man from the dust. But He also breathed into his nostrils. Heaven and earth interacts to substantiate man on earth.
      1. Genesis 2:7-8 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
  3. Responsibility of man
    1. To tend the garden. Adam was asked to take care of the garden. Adam was the author of nomenclatures. Whatever he called became the name.
      1. Genesis 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
      2. Genesis 2:19-20 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
    2. Man was also given dominion over all things on earth. It was God's plan for man to rule over things. Unlike evolution theory which has no purpose for mankind, God's creation theory shows that there was a specific plan and work for man.
      1. Psalms 8:6-8 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
  4. Helper and companion
    1. God found that two are better than one. Man needs a helper and he can function better with a helper custom fit for him. It is a wonderful plan of God to institute the family to have the best life on earth.
      1. Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
  5. Presence of God in family
    1. God is in our families when we are gathered in His name. Families were meant to bring God's kingdom on earth. We can only feel the presence of God when we are gathered in his name. Hence families need to pray to stay together.
      1. Matthew 18:19-20 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
  6. Family was designed to help each other
    1. Families were meant to stay and help each other in good times and in days of trouble.
      1. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
  7. Live joyfully
    1. Life was meant to be happy and joyful. The family is an expression of God's character. There is no time to be wasting our life that passes like a cloud. Time is too short to waste on quarrels and conflicts. The word of God commands us to live joyfully.
      1. Ecclesiastes 9:9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
