A Dallas Tamil Church Bible Study
The goal of this study is to study the enemy that exists who is a defeated foe. He will be eventually pushed into the lake of fire, but until then roars like a lion to devour as many as he can. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil and gave us authority to cast him out of our lives.

Combating Satan with Sandals of Peace
(rhj;jhid vjpHj;Jg; Nghuhl rkhjhdj;jpd; fhyzpfs;)
Introduction
The book of Ephesians tells us that we struggle, “not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). This is a warfare against demons. Satan is the god of chaos. Satan wants us to live in a constant state of hurt, shame and hostility. Satan wants us to get angry and live in bitterness. Satan wants us to lose peace, and harbour unforgiveness. All these demonic insinuations makes one to lose Peace. By having inner peace, and by having interpersonal peace with God and one another, we can overcome the author of division, the devil.

Sandals of Peace
1. Description of Peace
- Peace is not just absence of war. It is much deeper. It comes from a hebrew word called ‘Shalom’ meaning harmony, health and wholeness (Richards, 2013, p.79). The believing community should dwell in peace as St. Paul describes it.

2. Sandals and Peace
- We must understand the role of Peace. Sandals were used to protect the feet and to stand firm. Roman soldiers wore heavy sandals called soleae, half boot and half sandal. The sturdy, boots with nails, enabled the soldiers to dig their feet into the ground and stand firm to fight the enemy. We are ready to stand against the enemy’s attacks only when we are firmly grounded in the gospel of peace.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- We need to be at peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

3. Keys to inner peace

- Forgive one another. Revenge is not ours to undertake. We have to forgive in order to enjoy inner peace and to defeat Satan in the area of unforgiveness. Forgiveness heals relationships and restores both interpersonal and inner peace.

Conclusion
While Satan, wants to take revenge, create chaos, and harbor unforgiveness, God has called us to peace. By wearing the sandals of peace, we can overcome the enemy, the accuser of the brethren. By being like-minded, and by being humble, we can live in harmony with one another, and thus defeat the devil, the author of all confusion. St. Paul reminds us that we should live in peace with everyone.
