Christ - The Sent One

Introduction

Jesus Christ is the “Sent One”. God the Father sent Him. One cannot be sent, unless he exists before He came. Paul affirms that the coming of Jesus indicates his Pre-existence. His coming down in the flesh, also indicates that the Incarnation was real. Since He existed before, it also makes Him God. In this lesson, we shall study Christ, as the “Sent One” from the Father.

The Sent One

1. God sent Him, to save the world
  1. It was God who sent Him. The primary purpose of His Coming was to save the world. Jesus was not just born but was SENT by God.
    1. Nahthd; 3:16. Njtd;> jk;Kila xNuNgwhd Fkhuid tpRthrpf;fpwtd; vtNdh mtd; nfl;Lg;Nghfhky; epj;jpa[Ptid milAk;gbf;F> mtiuj; je;jUsp> ,t;tstha; cyfj;jpy; md;G$u;e;jhu;.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    2. 17. cyfj;ij Mf;fpidf;Fs;shfj; jPu;f;Fk;gb Njtd; jk;Kila Fkhuid cyfj;jpy; mDg;ghky;> mtuhNy cyfk; ,ul;rpf;fg;gLtjw;fhfNt mtiu mDg;gpdhu;.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

2. God sent Him, to redeem those under the Law
  1. Christ came under the law, born of a woman, to redeem those under the law, so that we might NOT be under the law. Although he was born of a woman, he did not sin and Jesus remained without Sin in the human flesh.
    1. fyhj;jpau; 4:4. ehk; Gj;jpuRtpfhuj;ijailAk;gb epahag;gpukhzj;jpw;Ff; fPo;g;gl;ltu;fis kPl;Lf;nfhs;sj;jf;fjhf>
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
    2. 5. fhyk; epiwNtwpdNghJ> ];jpuPapdplj;jpw; gpwe;jtUk; epahag;gpukhzj;jpw;Ff; fPohdtUkhfpa jk;Kila Fkhuid Njtd; mDg;gpdhu;.
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
  2. When Christ came, God also gave the Spirit. The Spirit of God was also the Spirit of Christ. Now the Spirit of Christ (Holy Spirit) came into our hearts, to cry ‘Abba-Father’. This indicates the pre-existence of Christ. Christ has to pre-exist, to share the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God is now equally understood as the Spirit of His Son.
    1. 6. NkYk; ePq;fs; Gj;jpuuhapUf;fpwgbapdhy;> mg;gh> gpjhNt! vd;W $g;gplj;jf;fjhf Njtd; jkJ FkhuDila Mtpia cq;fs; ,Ujaq;fspy; mDg;gpdhu;.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
    2. fyhj;jpau; 4:7. Mifahy; ,dp eP mbikahapuhky; Gj;jpudhapUf;fpwha;; eP Gj;jpuNdahdhy;> fpwp];J%ykha; NjtDila Rje;judhAkpUf;fpwha;.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

3. The coming of Christ makes the law obsolete
  1. The statutes, regulations and rituals introduced in the old testament becomes Obsolete with the coming of Christ. Killing of goats and sheep has been removed by the shedding of the sinless Lamb of God for the remission of sins. All these have been made possible because He was the Sent One, Sent by God Himself to redeem us from the curse of the law!
    1. Nuhku; 8:3. mnjg;gbnadpy;> khk;rj;jpdhNy gytPdkhapUe;j epahag;gpukhzk; nra;af;$lhjij NjtNd nra;Ak;gbf;F> jk;Kila Fkhuidg; ghtkhk;rj;jpd; rhayhfTk;> ghtj;ijg; Nghf;Fk; gypahfTk; mDg;gp> khk;rj;jpNy ghtj;ij Mf;fpidf;Fs;shfj; jPu;j;jhu;.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
    2. 4. khk;rj;jpd;gb elthky; Mtpapd;gb elf;fpw ek;kplj;jpy; epahag;gpukhzj;jpd; ePjp epiwNtWk;gbf;Nf mg;gbr; nra;jhu;.
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
    3. fyhj;jpau; 3:13. kuj;jpNy J}f;fg;gl;l vtDk; rgpf;fg;gl;ltd; vd;W vOjpapUf;fpwgb> fpwp];J ekf;fhfr; rhgkhfp> epahag;gpukhzj;jpd; rhgj;jpw;F ek;ik ePq;fyhf;fp kPl;Lf;nfhz;lhu;.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

4. God sent His Own Son
  1. Paul underscores Christ as “God’s Own Son”. God sent His Own Son, just like Abraham offered his own son Isaac. The sacrifice was stopped in the old testament, since child sacrifice was an abomination. But When God sent His Own Son, he demonstrated His love for us, the love that is immeasurable.
    1. Mjpahfkk; 22:1. ,e;jf; fhupaq;fs; ele;jgpd;G> Njtd; Mgpufhikr; Nrhjpj;jhu;; vg;gbnadpy;> mtu; mtid Nehf;fp: MgpufhNk vd;whu;; mtd;: ,Njh mbNad; vd;whd;.
And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
    2. 2. mg;nghOJ mtu;: cd; Gj;jpuDk; cd; VfRjDk; cd; NerFkhuDkhfpa Nkhupah Njrj;Jf;Fg; Ngha;> mq;Nf ehd; cdf;Ff; Fwpf;Fk; kiyfs; xd;wpd;Nky; mtidj; jfdgypahfg; gypapL vd;whu;.
And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
    3. 12. mg;nghOJ mtu;: gps;isahz;lhd;Nky; cd; ifiag; NghlhNj> mtDf;F xd;Wk; nra;ahNj eP mtid cd; Gj;jpud; vd;Wk;> cd; VfRjd; vd;Wk; ghuhky; vdf;fhf xg;Gf;nfhLj;jgbapdhy; eP NjtDf;Fg; gag;gLfpwtd; vd;W ,g;nghOJ mwpe;jpUf;fpNwd; vd;whu;.
And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

5. God sent Him in a human body (but without Sin)
  1. The coming of Christ did not decrease his divinity. He was fully human and fully divine. All the divine fullness dwelt in him in a human body. Paul believed that Jesus was fully divine and fully human (incarnation). This incarnation makes Christ as the only person who is both man and God, and who can redeem man back to God, by removing our transgressions through a perfect sacrifice.
    1. nfhNyhnrau; 2:9. Vndd;why;> Njtj;Jtj;jpd; gupG+uznky;yhk; ruPug;gpufhukhf> mtUf;Fs; thrkhapUf;fpwJ.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
    2. 10. NkYk; rfy Jiuj;jdq;fSf;Fk; mjpfhuj;Jf;Fk; jiytuhapUf;fpw mtUf;Fs; ePq;fs; gupG+uzKs;stu;fshapUf;fpwPu;fs;.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
    3. vgpnuau; 10:1. ,g;gbapUf;f> epahag;gpukhzkhdJ tug;Nghfpw ed;ikfspd; nghUshapuhky;> mitfspd; epoyha;khj;jpuk; ,Uf;fpwgbahy;> tU\e;NjhWk; ,iltplhky; nrYj;jg;gl;LtUfpw xNutpjkhd gypfspdhNy mitfisr; nrYj;j tUfpwtu;fis xUf;fhYk; G+uzg;gLj;jkhl;lhJ.
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
    4. 10. ,NaRfpwp];JtpDila ruPuk; xNujuk; gypaplg;gl;ljpdhNy> me;jr; rpj;jj;jpd;gb ehk; gupRj;jkhf;fg;gl;bUf;fpNwhk;.
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

6. The sent One, is the only mediator and intercessor
  1. God sent a substitute for our sins. Through His death and resurrection Jesus becomes the only person to be our mediator between God and man. He is a mediator because only He has seen God. He is a mediator because only He is the only Son of God who came in the likeness of human flesh from God.
    1. gpypg;gpau; 2:6. mtu; NjtDila &gkhapUe;Jk;> NjtDf;Fr; rkkhapUg;gijf; nfhs;isahbd nghUshf vz;zhky;>
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
    2. 7. jk;ikj;jhNk ntWikahf;fp> mbikapd; &gnkLj;J> kD\u; rhayhdhu;.
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
    3. 8. mtu; kD\&gkha;f; fhzg;gl;L> kuzgupae;jk;> mjhtJ rpYitapd; kuzgupae;jKk; fPo;g;gbe;jtuhfp> jk;ikj;jhNk jho;j;jpdhu;.
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
  2. There is no other mediator other than the Sent One
    1. I jPNkhj;NjA 2:5. Njtd; xUtNu> NjtDf;Fk; kD\Uf;Fk; kj;jpa];jUk; xUtNu.
      For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
    2. 6. vy;yhiuAk; kPl;Fk; nghUshfj; jk;ik xg;Gf;nfhLj;j kD\dhfpa fpwp];J ,NaR mtNu; ,jw;Fuparhl;rp Vw;w fhyq;fspy; tpsq;fptUfpwJ.
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

7. Christ sends us now
  1. Just like the Father who sent His Son, to save sinners, Christ now sends us to the world to save the world through His name. We receive this commandment from Christ. All that the Father says, Jesus did. We should also do what Jesus commanded us to do.
    1. Mjpahfkk; 22:21. ,NaR kWgbAk; mtu;fis Nehf;fp: cq;fSf;Fr; rkhjhdKz;lhtjhf; gpjh vd;id mDg;gpdJNghy ehDk; cq;fis mDg;GfpNwd; vd;W nrhy;yp>
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
    2. Nahthd; 20:22. mtu;fs;Nky; Cjp: gupRj;j Mtpiag; ngw;Wf;nfhs;Sq;fs;;
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Conclusion

We are called to be his ambassadors. Jesus, the Sent One, is the only name people can be saved. Whoever believes in Him will be saved. Having received this revelation, God wants us to be his followers, and carriers of the good news of the Sent One!
